The Unmakeable Brief
Submission terms
Effective November 5, 2026 · 2026-11-05
The Unmakeable Brief is an invitation to revisit an idea that never reached the screen. HEX Works LLC operates this initiative as HEX. These terms cover submitting an idea for consideration.
The invitation
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis while the form is open. There is no fixed deadline and no fee to submit. HEX intends to select one concept for an original editorial exploring the idea, why it stalled and possible approaches today.
Selection is editorial, at HEX’s discretion. It is not a contest with a cash prize, a production commission, an offer of funding or a promise to produce the concept. HEX may pause intake or decide not to select a submission. We cannot promise a response to every entry.
Who can submit
You must be at least 18 and own the concept and materials, or have the owner’s authorization to submit them for this review. If you act for a company or client, you must have authority to do so.
Send only what you are allowed to share. Do not submit confidential, restricted or proprietary client information, personal information about other people, passwords or access credentials. A link must lead only to shareable materials. This form is not a secure channel for confidential pitches and does not create a nondisclosure agreement.
You keep your work
You retain ownership of your concept and materials. By submitting, you give HEX a limited, nonexclusive permission to receive, store, copy and privately review the submission, and to contact you about it. This permission is limited to administering The Unmakeable Brief.
Submission does not grant a right to publish, produce, sell or license your idea. HEX will seek separate written permission before publishing your materials, name or company branding, or creating an adaptation or other development of the concept. Any agreed credits, scope and use of creative tools will be addressed at that stage.
HEX will not use submitted concepts to train generative AI models or upload the creative materials to generative AI services without separate permission. Routine hosting, email and anti-spam services are described in the privacy notice.
Review and selection
We look for the strength of the idea, the obstacle that prevented it from moving forward and its editorial potential. We may ask for more information or evidence of authorization before proceeding. You can decline any further discussion.
HEX may already know about or independently develop similar ideas. Receiving a submission does not make HEX’s future work exclusive to you or transfer anyone’s intellectual property. These terms do not authorize copying your protected materials.
Withdrawal and questions
You may withdraw an entry before any separate publication agreement by emailing HEX at info@hexworks.studio with the submission reference. We will stop active consideration and handle removal under the privacy notice.
If an editorial has been separately agreed, that agreement will govern publication and any later withdrawal. Submitting this form does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Changes to this initiative
If we change these terms, the form will show the new version before a new submission is accepted. A change will not retroactively expand the permission granted for an existing submission. Contact HEX at info@hexworks.studio about these terms.
