The Unmakeable Brief

Privacy notice

Effective November 5, 2026 · 2026-11-05

HEX Works LLC operates this initiative as HEX. This notice covers The Unmakeable Brief submission form and HEX’s handling of entries. It is specific to this initiative, not a statement about every service on the HEX website.

What we collect and why

Contact and professional details: your name, email address and any company or role you choose to provide. We use these to identify your submission, communicate about it and verify authorization when needed.

Creative submission: the working title, idea, reasons it stalled, intended audience response and optional reference link. We use these to evaluate the entry and discuss possible editorial participation. Do not include confidential client information or sensitive personal information.

Submission records: a reference number, time of receipt, your required confirmations, the policy version you accepted and notification-delivery status. We use these to document consent, acknowledge receipt and resolve problems.

Technical information: hosting and anti-spam providers process request, network and device information, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the form. HEX’s application uses a keyed, hourly IP fingerprint for rate limiting. The submission record does not store your raw IP address.

Who receives an entry

Entries are stored privately and notification emails go to Starr Hall and Zev Waismann at HEX. Authorized HEX personnel may review an entry as needed for this initiative. We do not post submissions publicly through the form.

Cloudflare R2 provides storage, Vercel provides website hosting, Google Workspace handles notification email, and Cloudflare Turnstile helps prevent automated abuse. These providers process information to deliver their services. Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum explains its anti-spam processing.

We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect rights and address abuse. Any public editorial use of your creative materials or attribution requires separate written permission.

Your choices

You can ask to access, correct or delete your submission, or withdraw it from consideration, by contacting info@hexworks.studio. Include your reference number if available. We may ask for proportionate verification, usually through the email address used to submit. Please do not send identity documents unless we specifically arrange a necessary verification method.

Additional privacy rights may apply depending on where you live and the law applicable to HEX. These terms do not limit those rights. We do not sell entries or contact information, share them for targeted advertising, or automatically add submitters to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

We keep an unselected submission for up to 12 months from receipt for editorial consideration. If you withdraw or request deletion, we aim to remove the entry and associated notification copies from active systems within 30 days, subject to any lawful retention requirement.

Before retaining a selected submission beyond that period or publishing any material, we will agree the further use and retention with you. Limited records may be kept longer when needed to comply with law or resolve a dispute. Service-provider backups and security logs may follow their own retention cycles and are not used to continue editorial consideration.

Security, cookies and location

We restrict access to submissions and use encrypted connections and private storage. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please share only nonconfidential materials.

The submission and policy pages do not send pageviews or form content to HEX’s analytics tracker. Turnstile processes browser and network signals for security. We do not use advertising cookies on these pages or use Do Not Track signals to change the essential anti-spam checks.

HEX operates in the United States. Its providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate, subject to their applicable safeguards.

Adults only

This initiative is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly solicit submissions from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact info@hexworks.studio so we can investigate and remove it.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions or requests, email HEX at info@hexworks.studio. Material changes will be reflected in the notice linked from the form. We will not expand the permitted use of an existing entry without an appropriate notice or permission.
